10. Some Legal Consequences of Pro-Gay Legislation

What would be the political goal of passing anti-discrimination laws?

1. Parents who took their children out of school in protest at them being taught about ‘gay’, bisexual and transgender history could be prosecuted.
…about 30 children who had been taken out of classes during the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Week after parents objected to their youngsters being encouraged to "celebrate the lives and achievements of lesbian, ‘gay’, bisexual and trans people in the community". Council bosses said the protest resulted in around 30 primary pupils missing school and had "taken action" against parents who pulled their children out of George Tomlinson School in Leytonstone, east London, but refused to state what sanctions are being taken.

2. the creation of a pedophile political party in Holland, holds seats in parliament and advocates for the legalization of adult/child sexual relationships, has been approved by the Dutch courts.

3. in Canada, where homosexual activism has enjoyed considerable success, there are now so-called Human Rights Tribunals which have the power to punish anyone who publicly opposes homosexuality by making the offender pay a monetary fine. The money is then given to the homosexual who filed the complaint.

4. a Catholic member of the City Council of Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada called homosexuality “unnatural” and was taken before a Human Rights Tribunal. One wonders if Pope Benedict himself would face arrest in Canada since he has repeatedly affirmed that homosexuality is “intrinsically disordered.”

5. On June 29, 2004, Pastor Ake Green was sentenced to one month in jail for showing “disrespect” against homosexuals in the sermon he delivered in his pulpit in Borgholm. The title of his sermon was “Are people born with homosexual orientation or is it the result of influence by evil powers?” Pastor Green was eventually exonerated by the Swedish Supreme Court.

The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God’s will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord’s Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition.

The Ex-Gay Story In The Pop Music World

Italy's "Festival di San Remo," the most important musical happening in my country which is seen on T.V. by millions of Italians, became the unlikely platform this year for a powerful ex-gay testimony. The singer, Giuseppe Povia, winner of the festival in 2006, presented a song entitled, "Luca Era Gay" (Luca was once gay.) The title of his song, implying that some gays can change to heterosexuality, was sufficient to destabilize the Italian gay movement. Gay activists threatened to block the festival, and Europarlimentary member Vittorio Agnoletto asked for a European resolution to stop Povia from peforming the song. Povia, himself, received death threats. The gay association "Everyone" denounced Povia to the Procura of the Republic for alleged "homophobia." These efforts failing, gay activists then asked the Festival organizers to "counterbalance" Povia with a song by a gay singer, about "the perfection of homosexual love." That effort too, failed.

Finally, on February 17th., Povia sang his song on the first evening of the Festival. "Luca Era Gay" recounts the transformation of a man named Luca from the gay lifestyle. Without the help of psychologists and psychiatrists, he digs deep within himself to understand the sources of his homosexual attractions. An emotionally disconnected, detached father and a smothering mother, he says, created confusion about his sexual identity: "I looked for men who would be my father, I went with men not to betray my mother." The song also alludes to a superficiality in homosexual relationships. He says, "between love and deceit, often we betrayed each other." The song ends with this verse: "This is my story, only my story. No disease. No healing. Dear dad, I forgive you even if you didn't come back. Mum, I often think of you, I love you and sometimes I still bear your reflection, but now I am a father and I am in love with the only woman I have ever loved." The music, a soft rap with dramatic tunes, carries a direct and honest text while never judging homosexually oriented people for their own personal lifestyle choices.

Before Povia's song was aired, the Italian comedian Roberto Benigni presented a twenty-minute show in which he condemned Povia, saying that homosexuality isn't a sin and that gays have been persecuted historically "because they love someone." He then read an excerpt from Oscar Wilde's "De Profundis."

After Povia's song, contrary to all custom, the conductor gave the microphone to Franco Grillini, former parliamentary member and former president of ARCIgay, the foremost gay association in Italy. Grillini said he had received a cellphone message from a friend (although all celphones were supposed to be turned off during the festival...), who had cried when he had just heard Benigni reading "De Profundis," because it brought to mind his partner who had died of AIDS. Grillini concluded by saying that Povia must learn what gay love is.

Then, the unforseeable happened: people in the theater started to hiss at Grillini (in Italy, hissing is like booing)! The crowd's sympathy was with Povia, not with the gay activist.

Povia's song went on to the finals and Saturday night, won second place in the San Remo Festival, while outside the theatre, gay activists continued to protest against him. Povia himself said: "I too had a gay phase--it lasted seven months and then I got over it."

The popularity of "Luca Era Gay" has given courage and dignity to the ex-homosexual community in Italy, who, until now, have been thoroughly intimidated by gay activists. The text's real-life insights regarding the ex-gay experience are undeniable.

What is Marriage?

The Roman Catholic Church believes that marriage is a faithful, exclusive, and lifelong union between one man and one woman, joined as husband and wife in an intimate partnership of life and love. This union was established by God with its own proper laws. By reason of its very nature, therefore, marriage exists for the mutual love and support of the spouses and for the procreation and education of children. These two purposes, the unitive and the procreative, are equal and inseparable. The institution of marriage has a very important relationship to the continuation of the human race, to the total development of the human person, and to the dignity, stability, peace, and prosperity of the family and of society. Furthermore, we believe the natural institution of marriage has been blessed and elevated by Christ to the dignity of a sacrament. This means that Christian marriage is more than a contract. Because they are married in the Lord, the spouses acquire a special relationship to each other and to society. Their love becomes a living image of the manner in which the Lord personally loves his people and is united with them. Living a Christian sacramental marriage becomes their fundamental way of attaining salvation.Because the marital relationship offers benefits, unlike any other, to persons, to society, and to the church, we wish to make it clear that the institution of marriage, as the union of one man and one woman, must be preserved, protected, and promoted in both private and public realms. At a time when family life is under significant stress, the principled defense of marriage is an urgent necessity for the wellbeing of children and families, and for the common good of society.Thus, we oppose attempts to grant the legal status of marriage to a relationship between persons of the same sex. No same-sex union can realize the unique and full potential which the marital relationship expresses. For this reason, our opposition to "same-sex marriage" is not an instance of unjust discrimination or animosity toward homosexual persons. In fact, the Catholic Church teaches emphatically that individuals and society must respect the basic human dignity of all persons, including those with a homosexual orientation. Homosexual persons have a right to and deserve our respect, compassion, understanding, and defense against prejudice, attacks and abuse. We therefore urge Catholics and all our fellow citizens to commit themselves both to upholding the human dignity of every person and to upholding the distinct and irreplaceable community of marriage.

In a joint coalition, several ex-gay organizations expressed their views that, for those with same-sex attractions, they support:

Personal choice in their sexual identity and behavior.

Right to know of alternatives to living a homosexual life.

Individual self-determination to seek counseling and determine the direction of that therapy

Compassion and respect to live in their choices as they see fit, without discrimination, ridicule,
marginalization, or being the target of hate speech.

Policy neutrality, especially in the freedom to speak about freely chosen alternatives to homosexuality.

Equal access to public forums to raise awareness of alternative responses to a homosexual identity and lifestyle”

Pro-Heterosexual or Anti-Gay?

I learned some new things today. A man says he has been gay and he became ex-gay 6 years ago. Amongst the things that irritate him is people asking him "So, are you healed?" His answer is eloquent;

"So, am I "cured"? (That's always what people want to know! The recurring question makes me tired, even as I understand their need to ask) YES - because I am now able to make and keep promises about my behavior I could never begin to keep before. Think of it as an alcoholic who hasn't had a drink in six years. Could he drink? Yes. Would it be profitable for him? No. And, does he understand that? YES! Perhaps you have some temptation in your own life that re-occurs but no longer owns you? "

He also has some building words for each of us about sensitivity to one another.

"Ask GOD TO LET YOU WALK A BIT IN MY SHOES - to understand how it might feel to:

a. Be in a crowd of Christians who use the word "gay" with contempt,
b. Hear constant rude remarks about gays at work, school or home
c. Hear "funny" jokes or stories about gays
d. See people imitating effeminate men or masculine women for a laugh
e. Hear macho men make threats about queers or fags
f. Hear gay lobbyists or actors proclaim gays cannot change
g. Hear some evangelists proclaim "God hates fags" and "turn or burn"
h. Hear well-meaning Christians with no clue as to how deeply this goes advise "just say no" or "just pray harder"
i. Watch Churches welcome the young man and woman living together, while pulling in the welcome mat for gays"


Finally, while Uganda gears up for what I call the pro-family agenda, and which others call an anti-gay campaign, I found these words salutary;

"REALIZE THE MODERN GAY AGENDA was born out of individuals' need to re-establish their worth in a society obsessed with taking it away. Should we fight it with words? Hardly! They are better equipped, better funded, and totally focused on this issue. We must realize they are not our enemy - that God loves them every bit as much as He does us. I think it was Abe Lincoln who was told he must conquer his enemies, and he replied, "Isn't that what I do when I make them my friends"? (Eph 6:12)"

So yes there is a gay agenda despite the mock shock expressed about George Oundo's admission he was working to further it (The New Vision, 24 March 2009.)

Yes, the gay agenda is massively funded.

The agenda is rooted in a feeling of alienation of those behind it, pro-gay activists.

So REALIZE

Pro-heterosexual families have their own legitimate concerns,

Pro-family activists are not going to sit back while their own way of life is sneered at and actively undermined,

Gay activists are every bit as bullying and ruthless as bullying and ruthless heterosexuals. Many people wanting to leave the gay life are intimidated by activists.

They will not be intimidated by vituperation and accusations of homophobia.

The way forward?

Lots of listening and lots of prayer.

2. What Scott Lively said on Spectrum, Radio One, Uganda

“Tracing the origins of homosexuality, how can we handle the challenge?”

KRS: Dr Scott Lively coined the phrase, “There is no shame in believing a lie until you learn the truth” [in other words it becomes shameful to continue believing the lie once you find out the truth]. You have written this booklet, “Defeating ‘gay’ arguments with simple logic.” Tell us as a human rights advocate and author, how did you become interested in this issue.?


Dr Lively: I was an alcoholic and drug addict and I became Christian and was healed through prayer. I began to recognise that there was a design in the world, and part of it is the way human beings are made. When we follow that design, as men and women when we join together in marriage and devote ourselves to our spouse and children we reap good fruit for ourselves and for society. If we turn away from that design we are against the way our bodies are made and we reap bad fruit. In the United States and around the world there is an aggressive political movement working to change the culture oriented toward marriage and family and to shift it towards moral anarchy where there are no restrictions on sexual behaviour except the concept of consent.


KRS: You said world wide, is it becoming a particular problem for Africa, is that why you are here? You first came in 2002?


Dr Lively: I came in 2002 and 2003 and I spoke against pornography which is used by the ‘gay’ movement to soften up the population. The ‘gay’ movement has done this all over the world. It corrupts the morality of the heterosexual population so that they would be more accepting of homosexual behaviour if they themselves had strayed outside their marriages.


KRS: How much research has been done in to this view?


Dr Lively: It is manifest, …if you have watched the transformation of the society. Most is my own personal research and observation of American society. It is important to note that while it took an enormously long time in the United States, it is happening very rapidly elsewhere. For example Brazil is the most pro-‘‘gay’’ nation on earth today whereas 5 or 10 years ago it would not have seemed possible and they followed the same pattern that they are now following here in Uganda and that they followed elsewhere in the world. I was communicating with a Brazilian pro-family activist [i.e. anti-’gay’ culture. Ed] last week (March 2009) who has had to flee Brazil to avoid arrest for speaking against the homosexual culture. The ‘gay’ agenda is about taking power and actively suppressing and silencing anyone who dares to speak against them. Where the ‘gay’s have the greatest amount of power is where there is the greatest persecution of those who disagree with them.


KRS: I read some research that suggests in any society, there are at most 5% homosexuals in the population, is that correct?


Dr Lively: Those are backward-looking studies in societies where there has always been a resistance to homosexual behaviour…. What I have noticed in the USA in high schools there is a dramatic escalation of “gay” behaviour or identity. They act ‘‘gay’’ whether they may not be engaging in the acts themselves and they often call themselves bi-sexual, 12-15 year old children. So I do not believe there is a ceiling on the number of people who would take part in this behaviour. Look at a prison populations, the ‘‘gay’’ percentage there is much higher than 5 or 6%. Many of those may not be homosexual in their orientation/desire but they will engage in homosexuality if the society they are in provides for it.


KRS: Let me take you back a bit. What is it you are saying happened in Brazil in the last few years?


Dr Lively: This is a cultural transformation that occurs. There are two competing philosophies, the Judeo-Christian world view – which is that we are created as heterosexual beings and culture has a responsibility to reinforce and affirm that culture to preserve it - even non-Christians mostly accept that we are made according to a design, that there is an external moral order that we are subject to, that society works best when marriage and family occur. In contradiction to that there is the position that there should be no restrictions on sexual behaviour and that human beings make up their own rules and that we can change them at will. Wherever the rules are changed, you see an immediate breakdown of family values. Not everyone is behaving immorally but the levels can rise so high they overwhelm society.


KRS: You say there is nothing normal about homosexuality?


Dr Lively: Pope John Paul II put is best when he said it is ‘intrinsically disordered’. That means it is dysfunctional in relation to the design of our bodies. That is self-evident. Our sexuality is primarily for reproduction and then also to cement our marriages.


KRS: What do say to the argument that homosexuals are born that way?


Dr Lively: I do not think most people who have a same sex attraction choose to have it. However it is their choice to pursue those feelings or to oppose them in themselves. There are three causes of homosexuality (Dr Lively says he has been studying this for 20 years) the primary cause is sexual abuse as a child. The secondary cause is sexual identity disorder. Children first learn that they are separate from their parents, then they learn that there are different genders. At this point, for example, if a boy is a child of a wife-beater, he may reject walking and talking and being like his father i.e. rejecting his father’s sexuality and adopting a feminine orientation and behave more like Mummy with whom he has empathy. There is no sexuality about it at that stage. But later at puberty that boy may look at people of the same gender as sexual objects.

And then he ‘remember’ that he was always like that.


KRS: How wide-spread is the discussion about this question today – analytical, medical, psychological - in the USA?


Dr Lively: Minimal because there is a lot of hostility. www.narth.com. is the website for professionals who treat individuals who want to recover from homosexuality. However the profession has been taken over by activists and people no longer say homosexuality is abnormal and needs treatment anymore because of the price you pay for saying so. Society in the USA is so politically correct that few people dare to say homosexuality is abnormal anymore. People have gone to jail in different countries for stating the opinion that homosexuality is abnormal. The most you hear from the pro-family side is a defence of marriage but they fear to go further than that. (see box about persecution of pro-family activists)


KRS: You are obviously a very religious man but if you were not a Christian would you still hold these views on homosexuality?


Dr Lively: Yes, in my booklet “Defeating ‘‘gay’’ arguments with pure logic” my reasoning is purely secular (not religious) reasoning. It is based on the formulator of the natural law - Aristotle You can tell the purpose of any individual thing by its design and function, for instance the eye was made to see. Aristotle was a purely secular man. The human body was not designed for homosexual acts. Rather homosexuality is people struggling with a deficiency in their own gender identity, to fill the gaps by bonding with someone of the same gender.
A caller called in to say that he believes in liberal ideology but that homosexuals are taking things too far. He added that they are relying on is their money-power and our weak laws.


Dr Lively: This is not a liberal versus conservative position. We are talking about the future of Society. What kind of society do you want? I want a strong society where young men and women grow up believing they will have healthy heterosexual marriages and that the society around them will continually affirm what they have chosen; i.e. that you hold your sexuality as a gift to the person you are going to spend your life with.


KRS: Dr Lively, you are a Christian although you are not Catholic but you have quoted a former Pope…


Dr Lively: Yes, I am respectful of other religions.
KRS: How do you explain the fact that some other religious leaders who have spoken out in favour of homosexuality?


Dr Lively: There is never any guarantee that any Christian is going to remain true to God’s teachings, no matter how high they rise in the hierarchy. Whether you are right or wrong does not depend on your credentials. There have been books written, so-called ‘‘gay’’ theology and they are deceitful. They have twisted the Scriptures and attempted to justify the ‘gay’ identity from the Bible. They are not true to the Word of God. Romans chapter 1 says the Truth of God is revealed from Heaven clearly and people have no excuse for failing to recognize God Himself and that people will suppress the Truth in unrighteousness in order to suit themselves and as a result of that they are given over to a reprobate mind and as a result of that they reap terrible consequences in their lives. And a society that does that reaps the same thing.


KRS: It is curious that many Christians, all basing their arguments on the same Bible come up with so many different views. We have some public figures in our national lives, not least the Minister of Ethics and Integrity who has come out against homosexuality and pornography and even women wearing short dresses. Homosexuality is deemed a criminal act in Ugandan law Do you see Uganda being under the same sort of threat to its values as trace in America between the 1940 and 1970s?.


Dr Lively: It is definitely unfolding as we speak. Last year (2008) an attempt was made to push through Uganda’s Parliament, an anti-discrimination law based on sexual orientation. That is an extremely devious political move that has been used at the beginning stages of transformation of all societies that later became pro-‘gay’. It always begins with the promotion of the idea that homosexuality is innate (inborn) and unchangeable. It is usually started by someone in the media, or a celebrity of some kind, softening especially the young people. [The argument is] if homosexuals are born that way then it is unfair to force them to conform to the rules that everyone has to follow.


KRS: But isn’t sexuality something the Universal Declaration of Human Rights pronounces on?


Dr Lively: It has been a while since I read it but I did study International Human Rights and in the history of human rights there has never been an endorsement of homosexuality. There has always been an endorsement of family life – even the ancient codes including the Old Testament, until the European Union policy of recent years.


KRS: According to the model you present, as things unfold, what are the next steps for Uganda? What do you recommend should be done?


Dr Lively: There is a strong opposition to homosexuality here that they do not have in other countries but they will work to erode that. There will be increasing promotion of homosexuality and increasing introduction of the philosophy of sexual freedom as a personal value at university level and through media. There will be an attempt to turn politicians to their side by bribery, blackmail etc until there are enough [legislators/MPs] to lay the legal groundwork. That always means an anti-discrimination policy will be passed as law, because in it is the idea that homosexuality is an unchanging condition.


KRS: Two months ago court awarded a couple of young people a large some of money because they said they were a ‘gay’ couple and the police raided their home and subjected one of them to a check of her gender. They got the award. Is that part of the process you are talking about?


Dr Lively: Yes. Let me say first of all, I believe, people who call themselves homosexuals should be left alone if they keep to themselves. I do not support the idea of pursuing them behind the closed doors of their bedrooms... that is a violation of basic human rights. But they are not staying behind closed doors. They are working to transform society. This is not even about acceptance but it is about power, the power to punish those who have through the course of their lives upset them by saying what they are doing is wrong. That is the end, before that there is a series of steps that have already begun here in Uganda.


KRS: What do you recommend should be done?


Dr Lively: Two things. Number one actively promote ex- ‘gay’ ministries. The treatment of homosexuality. Everyone should have the opportunity to have the best life has to offer. Number 2 establish laws that reaffirm family life. For example a policy that requires schools to teach children age-appropriate lessons about thinking about marriage and how to be the best husband or wife possible so that the generation coming up will be immune to the homosexual agenda. If the homosexuals were able to get their Bill introduced last year it means they are pretty powerful already.


KRS: Where would the resources come from? Where are their headquarters.


Dr Lively: The curriculum for existing public schools. it is just a matter of putting the guidance in place.


KRS: Who are the people promoting the '‘gay’' agenda?


Dr Lively: In a society like this where it is illegal it would be hard to know.


KRS: Are there international links with people in your country.?


Dr Lively: Absolutely, there are international activists. I do not know the names. ..

1. You shall come to know the Truth

And the Truth Shall Set You Free

I am disappointed that following the uproar in Uganda (see New Vision newspaper circa 24 – 27 March 2009) after a leading gay activist, George Oundo, denounced his gay lifestyle and confessed to serially seducing children and others in to the gay lifestyle, gay blogs studiously ignore (a) the concerns of the public and (b) scientific evidence. They choose instead to rant and rave about “hate” and how scared they are. They also delete posts (as did gug) that do not join in the mock hysteria. I thought discussion was the objective. I gave some information which the blogger responded to by saying 'Thanks but I won't read it.' This regression to tantrums may just show the woundedness which may have given rise to gender rejection/confusion in the first place. Tell me none of this resonates. Easy as he may be to ridicule, George Oundo is a brave man, because he stood up for the truth. God bless him. And all of us.

In all of this gug forgot to address the key issue raised:

Are there any scientific studies in to the roots of homosexuality?

Answer: There are many. Pro-gay activists made a big effort to find proof that people are born gay and therefore have a ‘right’ to same sex marriage etc. They failed to find genetic proof. There are examples below;

· Bailey did two studies of identical twins (those whose genetic make-up is exactly the same) and fraternal twins. In his second study he found that for identical twins, in 11% of cases, where one was gay the other was also gay. Also that for fraternal twins the rate was 0%. N.E. Whitehead points out if homosexuality was genetic, 100% of gay identical twins would have a gay twin brother but only 11% did in the study.

· Simon Le Vey carried out a study which was paraded as proof that there is a gay gene. However Le Vey himself says,”I did not prove that homosexuality is genetic…I didn’t show that gay men are born that way…[it is] the most common mistake people make in interpreting my work.”

Le Vey also says :

When a gay man, for example, says he was born gay, he generally means that he felt different from other boys at the earliest age he can remember. Sometimes the difference involved sexual feelings, but more commonly it involved some kind of gender-nonconformist or 'sex-atypical' traits--disliking rough-and-tumble play, for example--that were not explicitly sexual. These differences, which have been verified in a number of ways, suggest that sexual orientation is influenced by factors operating very early in life, but these factors could still consist of environmental forces such as parental treatment in the early postnatal period.[emphasis added]" Queer Science (Page 6)

· Hamer also carried out a study. He admitted his disappointment saying, “The pedigree study failed to produce what we originally hoped to find: simple Mendelian inheritance.”

Same Sex Attraction is not a choice in the same way as other emotions or temptations are not a choice. However our reaction to the temptation is a choice. Acting on the temptation and becoming an active homosexual is a choice. Ashley Mac Isaac, a lesbian violinist says, ”For me, homosexuality is a learned behaviour. I don’t think it could be a genetic trait. We’re born for reproduction so that life can continue. ”Advocate, Dec 10 1996. Peter Tatchell is probably the UK’s best-known pro-gay activist (an activist is a person who promotes a cause using political tactics such as demonstrations, mass media e.t.c.) yet he agrees with this.

Finally, an ex-activist Joe Dallas writes in his book that so many traits are said to be inborn e.g. alcoholism and violence. Then he asks, does that make those behaviours moral or right? Or even desirable one might add.
